Sperling Brut Reserve 2011, BC VQA Okanagan Valley, British Columbia

This is a fine release from Anne Sperling's family estate vineyards in east Kelowna, a sparkling blend of pinot noir...
Immediate persistence, which sounds like an oxymoron but the first few seconds with your nose in this glass give you...
This mid-weight dry traditional method sparkler has fariy; complex but unusual aromas that remind me of Spanish cava....

Fairly intense nose is very autolytic in nature, plus some brioche, lemon citrus, and honeyed aromas add to the complexity. Still crisp and lively on the nicely dry palate with fine acidity and persistent mousse. Lovely, creamy texture and very fresh, ending with some waxy and nutty notes on the very long finish. Blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Tasted June/2019.
