Henry Of Pelham Baco Noir Old Vines 2019

This is a really lovely wine - ripe, smooth, balanced, avoiding sweetness, and bringing out the best of baco's...
Baco Noir is not one of my favourite grapes but Henry of Pelham has a knack with the grape that surpasses the efforts...

When I first opened this wine, I was getting notes of cherry. Good balance of acidity and tannins. Nice finish with a very tasty flavor of dark fruit. About 20 minutes later, this wine opened up with some aromas of oak and and flavors of oak as well. Sadly, that was a short window because about 20 minutes later, that oak that I mentioned dissipated. Overall, this wine was very tasty. if that oak stayed with the wine throughout the evening, I would have given this even a higher score.

I am having a tough time with this one. With 14 g/L sugar content, it comes across as a dessert wine. I like my reds very dry. But my partner likes it, so we'll call it a draw and give it 87.
OK. I grew to appreciate this wine on further acquaintance. Not my usual style but it works and I'd buy again,
