Fragrant, medium-high intensity nose is savoury & slightly reductive, which blows off to reveal a lovely, attractive mix of ripe red & black cherries, roses, savoury earth & sweet spice aromas, plus whiffs crushed stone & blackberry adding further complexity. Dry, medium+ bodied palate, sour dark red cherry, black cherry, blackberry, savoury earth & oak spice flavours. Fresh, tangy acidity. Smooth, supportive & elegant tannins have good structure + a touch of grip on back palate. Shows nice balance w/ savoury earth, mineral + oak spice on the long, juicy finish. Tasted Oct. 2024. I struggled with this wine. High acidity, slightly tart red fruit, taut tannin....as one would expect from a CC, Yet, it seems rather austere and a bit joyless at the moment. Agree with DL, I would age this another few years, it may mellow and provide more pleasure. Tasted Oct 2024.
