Chateau d`Argadens (the former Chateau Salle d`Arche) went through massive renovation program, and wine quality keeps getting better each year. Chateau is located in Saint-Andre du Bois, department of Gironde.
Pleasant medium-bodied Bordeaux Superieur, typical blend of Merlot, Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc. Very light tannins, lot of dark fruits with notes of woods and herbs. Goes well with beet salad with balsamic reduction, goat cheese and red meats. Tasted January 2017
Interestingly enough that very close to d`Argadens is Chateau Malrome which became the home of the mother of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.
Fresh and supple, with an aromatic singed bay leaf edge to the medium-weight plum and black currant fruit. A flash of iron gives the finish some length. Drink now through 2013.
