Valdivieso Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Maipo Valley
Cabernet Sauvignon
Maipo Valley, Chile
$14.75 (312769)
Deep, dark and delicious Cabernet sporting aromas of blackberry, vanilla and woodsmoke. Juicy, ripe and medium-full bodied with bright acid lift giving rise to notions of cherry and currants. Shows a youthful, grippy finish that should smooth out with 1-2 years, or tame it in tasty fashion with a rare steak. (VINTAGES panel, Dec. 2012)Critic Reviews (2)

The 2009 Valdivieso Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, a single varietal aged in French Oak for 12 months, has intense aromas of cranberry, dates, vanilla and cedar. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, integrated wine, with forward acidity, refined tannins and a long finish. Drink with food; drink now – 2017. My impression: NICE, 89 pts – recommended for its value as it is reduced from $19.95. Tasted August/13.
