Studert Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett 2008, Prädikatswein
Riesling
Mosel, Germany
$12.25 (970129)
A textbook, archetypical example of Mosel kabinett here, medium-dry up front though cleansed and dried out on the back palate by riveting acids. Pure, honey-slathered slate, peach and apricot flavours linger on nicely. Terrific value for fans of the genre. Score: 90 (John Szabo, MS, WineAlign.com, Jan 2013)Critic Reviews (3)

Nothing mindblowing about this wine, but it's extremely enjoyable. Was surprised that the nose wasn't more aromatic, but flavours of peach, apricot, mandarin orange, ripe red apple, honey, and typical Mosel minerality notes all come forward on the palate. Light-bodied and off-dry, the acidity keeps this wine nicely balanced and it has a long finish. Amazing value! Tasted March 2013.
Bright straw yellow in color, this Riesling opened up with attractive aromas of pear, peach, pink grapefruit, honey, minerals and a hint of petrol. On the mouthfeel, light to medium bodied, off-dry, tasty sweetness on the palate and lively acidity. Good length on the finish with flavours of soft tropical fruit and honey and a great acidity, which made the ending clean and refreshing. Enjoyed by all five of us who had the opportunity to share this lovely Riesling, loved the low alcohol and at $16.95, it represents a terrific value.

nose needs a little time to open open up, not very descriptive of the taste of the wine. taste: tangy sweet, but without residual sugar.
Would go well with a ,main dish with mango or pineapple
