Tenuta Rocca Ornati Langhe 2006, Doc
Red Blend
Piedmont, Italy
$21.95 (309369)
A blend of 35% nebbiolo, 35% barbera, and 30% cabernet sauvignon. Clearly a very modern, forwardly fruity style wine, with generous sweet oak influence (though high quality oak), dense, dark ripe fruit, and light, leafy notes. Tasted blind, this could easily be put in the new world if not for the tart natural acids and gritty tannins. As such, this should appeal widely, and with salty protein, would really shine. Better in 1-2 years. Score 90 (John Szabo, MS, WineAlign.com, Jan 2013)Critic Reviews (3)

I think the expert reviews do a good job at describing the wine, so I'll leave it at that.
