Stoney Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2010, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Cabernet Sauvignon
Ontario, Canada
$13.75 (327809)
This is a well-made cabernet from an Ontario vintage that permitted cabernet to ripen fully. Look for good complexity in the fruit, which is solid and consistent right through the palate, an attractive texture, and good fruit-acid balance. The tannins are easy-going, and this is drinking well now through 2015. Score: 4 (Rod Phillips, rodphillipsonwine.com, Feb. 15, 2013)Critic Reviews (1)

An enjoyable, acceptable cab sauv, whose merits largely rely on the ripe fruit of the 2010 vintage. An approachable style, mid weight and medium length/complexity. Tannins are a bit soft for the varietal. A good backyard bbq wine with friends when top sirloin streaks are searing on the Q. Grip it n' sip it! June 2013.
