Fairly impressed by this Merlot. Very smooth and easy to drink. Benefited from decantiing over 30 minutes to an hour. Tasted April 2013.
Feels rather alcohol forward even at only 13%. Some flavors of dried fruit and basic woods, yet finishes holding back on that juicy sensation I enjoy with merlots.
If you have this in your cellar, drink it now or cook with it.

The nose has essences of cedarbox, oak spice, and a hint of blackcurrant. The palate was unbalanced. It was difficult to detect quantities of fruit, even the currant. The tannins are really wound tight, and there is a stemmy component. Palatable, but phenolically unripe. (Jan 26, 2011)
This wine is just average. Not an exciting merlot.
I am rather disappointed with this merlot from Bordeaux. i expected a finer wine but all I got was an uninspiring, mild-tasting, average red wine. I would not buy it again, despite the relatively low price, $14.95. For the same price, I could find better tasting wines.
