Excellent shiraz. Could have left this another year or two and I expect it may have been even better. Oct 2014
This is a big, bold, dark ruby shiraz. On the nose, it made a mess (that's the last time I pour wine on my nose). But inhaling it revealed dark fruit, smoke meat and tarry and oak aromas. On the palate, there's more fruit, pepper, velvety tannins and a nice full mouthfeel (I will continue to pour wine on my palate). Oak is integrated adding to a fine balance. I would pair this with a juicy peppercorn encrusted steak. January 2014.
The 2007 Journey's End Shiraz Single Vineyard, aged in French Oak barrels for 18 months, has intense aromas of yogurty raspberry, blackberry and vanilla. It is a full bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; with forward acidity, refined tannins (decant for 30 min) and a medium to long finish. It is food friendly yet quite enjoyable by itself; drink now – 2018. My impression: NICE, 90 pts – recommended for its quality. Tasted Jan/14.
