Very juicy and generous, quite modern in style. Very appealing with notes of cassis, blueberry and blackberry. Lovely...

Such a stunner! This one was pure Chateauneuf with loads blackberry, black licorice, garrigue, tar, and smokey/gamey notes on the nose. On the palate, it was medium bodied and quite round in the mouth with medium acidity and medium+ tannins with quite noticeably high alcohol. The flavours replayed, though I found more intense black fruit notes, especially prune, and black pepper that continued through on a very long finish. Not a cheap bottle, but the quality more than makes up for it. Tasted January 2014.
Strawberry jam, herbs/garrique, nutmeg and some funk. The palate offers more or the same with cherry and black pepper. Tannins are still sticky, decant or tuck away another 2-3 years. Complex enough with good concentration, a decent CdP overall, but not outstanding. Jan. 2016.
