Brooding, with dark fruit, smoky notes and mineral (iron). Big, round and a bit boozy in the mouth. Quite a wine for...

A young and very primary, slightly reductive and exultant Carmenère. Its exuberance is stifled by that reduction, a...

The 2012 Montgras Carmenere Reserva has intense notes of lees, green stems, milky red currant, strawberry and raspberry. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; with forward acidity, grippy tannins (decant for 30 min) and a medium to long, vanilla finish. This is a food friendly or sipping wine; drink now – 2016+. My impression: NICE 89-90 pts – recommended for its quality and value. Tasted Dec/13
