Syrah, touriga nacional and alicante bouschet come together in this bold and fruity, Rhône alternative type wine....
This pours deep ruby-purple - very youthful appearance. Also on the nose where the very ripe plummy/black cherry...

Very well-integrated nose and palate on this wine. Nose is still developing, features ripe red currants, black currants and blackberries, violets, flinty minerality, and lots of cocoa, vanillin, smoke and toast. Tannins are fairly smooth and acidity is medium; the minerality is quite pronounced on the palate. I think this wine will probably show more smoky and deep floral notes over the next 5 or so years. Good value now; will probably be exceptional then.
Full-bodied, very ripe, yet still has noted acidity. Seems just a bit out of balance to me, but still has remarkable density for the price. Certainly worth a try at the price. Buy two: One to try now, hold one for three years to see if the balance improves. Portugal again delivers fine value.
