The 2005 Château Bégadanet is medium bodied, nicely aromatic, integrated wine. The nose reveals cedar, toasted oak and vanilla whereas the palate shows red currants and cherry. Tannins are refined to tannic (open for 30 min to 1 hour), acidity is moderate and food/sipping friendly and the finish is medium and smooth. It is ready to drink now or can be cellared for up to 5 years. Watch out for tartrate crystals and sediment. My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 90 pts - highly recommended wine. Tasted June/11.

Although I thought the bouquet was a little off, the taste is classic, smooth Bordeaux. Great value. I bought more.
On the nose this is slightly earthy, but mostly fresh with fruits. The palate is balanced. Nothing really sticks out. This is an easy-drinking Bordeaux that wasn't complex to me. Nonetheless, like all Bordeaux, it was excellent with lamb. Tasted January 2012.
Very lovely aromas of cassis and red berry with a nice undertone of oak and subtle earthiness. The palate is very smooth and subtle, the fruit dominates but their are hints of oak and herbs. Nicely balanced and well suited for food but not something I would necessary drink for its own sake.
Typical old Bordeaux flavours, colour is bricking and tannins are mellowed out
