Thomas Bachelder has done a wonderful job with this multi-vineyard Niagara sourced chard. Light yellow gold with a green tinge. Minimal use of older oak lends a suggestive rather than aggressive flavour quality. It presents tart apple and mineral aromas. The palate offers a creamy mouthfeel, high acidity, apple and citrus fruit, a certain greeness and creme brulee. Excellent length. Well balanced. Tasted May 2014.
The 2011 Bachelder Niagara Chardonnay, subtly mineral, has appealing aromas of yellow apple, lemon, butter and vanilla. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; with crisp acidity and a long finish. This is a food friendly and sipping wine; drink past 2020 (cork enclosure). My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 91 pts – recommended its quality. Tasted in Jul/14 at 'Barrels & Bonfires (i4C 2014)' http://grapeselections.com/i4c-2014/.

Nice creamy texture with honey suckle, and some faint citrus undertones. Easy drinking elegant stuff, flavours are subtle.

Crisp yet with a nice mild creaminess on the finish.

All these great reviews, but it just does not work for me at all. All I taste is the harshness of the oak, so I cannot get to the other attributes it is supposed to have. What a disappointment.
