Great value here! It's not hard to get ripeness and richness in the sun-baked Roussillon, but it can be hard to...

Excellent wine, full bodied with notes of red fruits and blackberries. Animal and earth notes are also present. This little wine punches far above its weight the Languedoc-Roussilon is where the best QPR is to be found in the entire wine world at the moment. A memorable wine with a long lingering finish. Will improve with up to 5 years of cellaring, better on second day. By half a case or more and drink every 6 months **** Side note 2016 vintage is disappointing in comparison to the great 2015

What an excellent wine for the money! I agree with Mr. Lawrence, the 2015 vintage is superior to to the bracketed vintages. Superb value for such an intriguing flavour profile at this price point. We stocked-up and will be enjoying this one through 2018.

Jul 2018: Original note stands but wine is more open now. Lovely. Upped tp 89pts.

Original note:
Once again, Chapoutier delivers a fine, flavourful red from the Roussillon. Plenty of dark fruit flavours backed by notes of black olives, pepper and herbs. Seems a bit tight at the moment - wouldn't hurt to give this another year. Or better, buy a few bottles, try one now then again in a year or two. rated 88pts. Tasted Aug 2017.
